Our People

I was born and raised in Colombia, where I earned my degree in Industrial Engineering. My dream was to spend my days in a manufacturing facility wearing a hard hat and work boots, seeing how raw materials are transformed into finished products through complex and fascinating processes.

In 2019, Steelscape/BlueScope turned that dream into reality. I started as a Quality Technical Assistant and, two years later, advanced to the role of Paint Line Process Engineer. Now, I am transitioning to a new position as a Manufacturing Excellence Engineer.

For me, growth means continuous improvement. Just as we look for opportunities to improve and optimize our processes, we should approach our careers with the same mindset, actively seeking opportunities to learn and develop new skills. Growth involves stepping out of our comfort zones and taking on new projects or roles.

I am grateful for the growth opportunities BlueScope has provided. When I joined as a Quality Technical Assistant, I recognized the importance of learning and preparing myself for future opportunities. I noticed all the movements within the business, and I’ve been working hard to take advantage of every chance for advancement.

The motivation to excel at BlueScope is driven by the realization that hard work leads to tangible results, and each opportunity for advancement, though challenging, has been rewarding.

I’m currently transitioning from Steelscape Paint Line Process Engineer to CPNA Manufacturing Excellence Engineer, a role with a broader impact. In this role, I will be able to work closely with several different teams from different processes. Together, we will institute a continuous improvement culture, adopting all the best practices around BlueScope.

This marks the beginning of a new adventure and the preparation for the one that will come next.

Mentorship has been vital to my growth and success at BlueScope. I have been fortunate to work with mentors who have shared invaluable knowledge and believed in my potential. Their support has given me confidence and motivation to embrace new challenges.

My contributions have varied across roles—from ensuring product quality and process efficiency to now supporting the Manufacturing Excellence Department in standardizing manufacturing principles. All my efforts aim to fulfill our commitments to customers, employees, communities, and shareholders.
