Adhi brings a holistic view to the table with his dual roles at NS BlueScope Indonesia.

My Career Journey

I was introduced to BlueScope while I was doing my MBA program. One of my research projects was on joint ventures in the steel industry, and BlueScope, being a global leader in steel production, naturally came into the picture. I was impressed with BlueScope’s brand and reputation and its strong business presence in many parts of the world.

I joined BlueScope in 2016 and currently, I hold two roles – one as the Marketing Manager for the residential segment in Indonesia, and the other role as the Country Business Partner for the Digital Enabling Team (DET).

In my capacity as DET Country Business Partner, my responsibility is to align the DET strategy with the country’s overall business strategy, focusing on our digital transformation journey to enable synergistic collaboration across functions. I review the technological needs and requirements of the business and work closely with colleagues from the regional office to ensure employees are supported with the right tools to work effectively.​

How I Create Strength Through Innovation

As a Marketing Manager, I develop and execute strategic marketing plans, manage and develop retail brands, and oversee marketing activities for the Indonesia business. This role requires a harmonious blend of creativity and technical knowledge in a competitive business landscape.

So the saying goes, that every crisis presents an opportunity. The COVID-19 pandemic presented an opportunity to relook at how we are engaging with our customers. With limited face-to-face interactions, I initiated and led the team to develop a new holistic approach of end-to-end digital marketing to enable us to reach out to potential customers via multiple channels. I also set up call centres to help our customers with their queries on our products and where they can get them. To-date, I have successfully orchestrated 19 campaign launches with multiple stakeholders, elevating BlueScope’s brand in the market.

With my dual roles as Country Business Partner (DET) and Marketing Manager, no single day is the same. There will always be new technologies to learn, new challenges to overcome and better ways to communicate and connect with our customers. This is what excites me at work!

Creating strength for the future means that I am able to value add to the business by leveraging on my dual roles as DET Country Business Partner and Marketing Manager. I want to continue to contribute and learn as the digital landscape changes, pivoting it to support the marketing efforts of the business through active customer engagement and making work fun for our people.
